Eligibility Criteria
Here is the list of eligibility criteria for the University of Twente Scholarship
- The candidate must have a student number.
- You must have been selected for the UT Master’s program starting in the academic year 2027 (September).
- The candidate should not be a graduate of the UT graduate program.
- It may take up to 8 weeks before you receive the results after the completion of an application by the candidate.
- English language test requirement: Academic IELTS 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT of 90)
- You should fulfill the criteria for an entry visa in the Netherlands (if applicable)
Scholarship Benefits
The University of Twente Scholarship will provide the following benefits
- Scholarship value: € 3,000 – € 22,000 for one year.
- In the case of 2 years program, you will receive the same amount for the other year as well.

Please note: the UTS is a partial scholarship. It helps with study costs, but it is not a full scholarship. You must be able to pay the remaining costs of study and living yourself.
How to Apply: Step by Step
- Apply for an eligible Master programme at the University of Twente starting in September 2027.
- Wait for your (conditional) admission letter. This can take up to 8 weeks, so apply early.
- Use your student number to fill in the UTS application form before 1 April 2027.
- Check your email for the result in early May 2027.
Tips for a Strong Application
- The university looks for students in the top 5 to 10% of their graduating class. Show your rank if your university provides it.
- Write an honest, specific motivation. Explain why this programme fits your goals.
- Meet the English score, including the speaking minimum, before you apply.
- If you are interested in the Kipaji Scholarship, mention it in your motivation. It is only open to UTS recipients.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can EU students get the UTS?
No. It is only for non-EU/EEA citizens. Dutch students and current UT students are also not eligible.
