Eligibility Criteria
The following criterion must be ensured to be eligible for the Allan & Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust Masters Scholarships:
- English Language
- The applicant/ candidate must be a national of, or permanently domiciled, in one of the countries or territories listed on the official website.
- Applicants must hold an offer at the University of Sheffield in any of the courses before deadline
- For tuition fee purposes, the applicant must be classified as overseas.
- The applicant must be self-funded to receive this award, i.e., means not to be funded by any research council, government, private enterprise, charity, or any other similar organization.
- This scholarship is solely awarded means the applicant cannot hold this scholarship with any other funding awards neither from the University of Sheffield nor from any external sources.
- The mode of attendance must be full-time.
- The scholarship cannot be postponed, so; you must begin your studies at the University of Sheffield in 2021.
- The scholarship holder is subject to successfully meeting any condition(s) attached to your offer before the deadline provided by the Admissions Service.
- The scholarship receipt is subject to successfully receiving the visa to study at the University in September 2023.
Application Procedure
Here are the following instructions regarding this scholarship.
- The candidate can apply for postgraduate study via our postgraduate online application form.
- Certain documents will be needed to support the application as; previous qualifications, personal statement, previous degree (s) proof, and two (2) Academic references.
- IETLS Overall score of 6.5 or above, with at least 5.5 in each component.
- The candidate/ applicant will automatically be considered to get this scholarship if one receives an offer to study one of the above-mentioned eligible courses and whether one is a national or permanently domiciled in one of the eligible countries/ territories.
The selection process for award of scholarship
If the applicant is selected for the last and final stage of the application process, they will contact the applicant (date to be confirmed). They might ask for a short personal statement to support your application. If the applicant is not going to receive any mail asking for a personal statement, it means that the applicant has not been selected for this scholarship award. The final decision for those asked to apply will be made by a deadline to be confirmed.
Deadline of Scholarship
A complete online application for your programs is also needed. It is highly recommended to apply for the programs six weeks before the scholarship deadline. It should note that it can take up to 4 weeks for the complete applications for admission to be considered by the respective department. However, this duration can differ depending on the time of year. That would be ideal if you were prepared to wait for up to 6 weeks during busy periods.
An incompletely submitted application or lately applied will not be considered for the award of a scholarship.
How to apply
If you accept an invitation to study one of the qualifying courses and are a national of, or legally domiciled in, one of the eligible countries or territories, you will be automatically qualified for the scholarship. A jury of academic judges will review your course submission and determine if you will advance to the final stage of the application process.
