CVS Health Foundation offers scholarships to support students in their education:

  1. Children of Colleagues Program: This scholarship is for the children of full-time CVS employees. It can be used to cover tuition costs at a two or four-year university or college.
  2. Healthcare Education Scholarships: CVS Health Foundation also provides scholarships for students attending accredited Advance Practice Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Pharmacy schools. These scholarships can assist students pursuing healthcare-related careers in their educational journey.

Number of Scholarships Awarded:

  • Up to 25% of the applications received can be selected to receive a scholarship.
  • In 2022, over 900 applications were received, and 228 students were awarded scholarships.

Selection Criteria:

  • Selection is based on various factors, including academic achievement, extracurricular activities, leadership roles, community involvement, the strength of the application and student essay, recommendation letter, and financial need.

Selection Committee:

  • A scholarship review committee, independent of CVS Health and the CVS Health Foundation, makes the selections. The committee is composed of professionals from high school guidance counselors, college financial aid and admission officers, and experts in college access and higher education.

Eligibility:

  • The scholarship is open to dependent children of full-time CVS Health colleagues.
  • Students already in college pursuing an undergraduate degree can apply.
  • Applicants must be under the age of 25 at the application deadline.

Dependent Definition:

  • Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children, stepchildren, or foster children under legal guardianship of the CVS Health colleague parent/guardian.

New Employees:

  • To be eligible, the parent must be a full-time CVS Health employee at the time of the application deadline.

Graduate School:

  • This scholarship program is only for students attending undergraduate school.

Household Income:

  • Household income should include the income of the parent and/or stepparent with whom the child resides, similar to Federal Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) standards.

Essay Criteria:

  • The strongest essays provide the scholarship review committee with an understanding of who the applicant is and what they hope to achieve in college and beyond.

Recommendation Letters:

  • Students should submit their application before the deadline, even if the recommendation letter has not been submitted. Recommenders have a week after the deadline to submit recommendations.

Transcripts:

  • High school transcripts can be unofficial, but they should include information on classes taken and grades received during all four years of high school.

Decision Announcements:

  • Scholarship decisions are typically announced in June via email to the applicant.
