Financial Benefits of Google Conference Scholarships 2024
The Google Travel and Conference scholarship is fully funded and recipients will receive the following financial services;
- Conference Registration
- A stipend of$100 USD for miscellaneous travel costs.
- One round trip travel (transportation) to and from the conference site.
- Hotel accommodation for the dates of travel as discussed directly with the accepted candidates.
Since travel and/or hotel arrangements are not included in the reimbursement package, kindly do not arrange for them at your own cost.
Google’s travel agency, AmexGBT, will book hotel rooms on your behalf for the specified event dates. Any hotel reservations made other than through AmexGBT will not be compensated or returned.

Eligibility Criteria for Google Conference Scholarship
The eligibility for scholarships varies by region, please review the details of the region you want to apply for. The most qualified candidates will receive a scholarship after their applications have been reviewed. Each applicant will get a notification of their status according to the time frames that are applicable to their area.
For North America:
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria to apply for the North America Google Conference Scholarship;
- Applicants must be permanent residents, citizens of, or currently studying in Canada, Mexico, or the US.
- At the time of application, applicants must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Applicants must be an industry professional or a University Student.
- Must be able to attend the conference in its entirety.
Note: Currently, this scholarship is not available for Google employees, interns, contractors, officers or directors. Every year, they do their best to give awards to new applicants.
For Africa:
Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements, to be eligible for a scholarship to attend an international conference;
- Must be a full-time student enrolled in an accredited African university in need of conference travel funding.
- Must have an acceptance for a paper at a prestigious conference in computer science.
- Publish the accepted paper as the only author or as co-author.
The application for Google scholarship is not open to Google employees. Individuals who are;
- residents of embargoed countries.
- ordinarily resident in embargoed countries.
- The application for this scholarship would be banned in any other way by applicable export controls and sanctions programs.
For Asia Pacific (APAC):
Applicants should meet the eligibility requirements for a travel grant to attend an international Computer Science research conference:
- Must be full-time students from a recognized university in the country where these travel grants are offered and in need of conference travel funds.
- Must be the main author of the paper if it is accepted.
