Application Timeline
For the 2027/27 round, the programme followed this timeline. The next round is expected to follow a similar pattern, but always confirm dates on the official website.
- November to December: choose your programmes using the Study Finder.
- December: contact your sending partner (for example a ministry or Hungarian embassy) to check its own rules and deadlines.
- Register and upload your documents in the online system at apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu.
- Mid-January: the application deadline.
- February: sending partners nominate the best applicants. Only nominated applicants move forward.
- March to May: universities hold entrance exams or interviews. A score of at least 56 out of 100 is needed to stay in the race.
- End of June or early July: Tempus Public Foundation announces the results.
Tips for a Strong Application
- Check your own country’s sending partner requirements early. Some have earlier internal deadlines.
- Pick your two programmes carefully. Only two choices are allowed.
- Doctoral applicants should contact a supervisor early, as some doctoral schools ask for a supervisor statement by mid-March.
- Prepare for the university entrance exam or interview in spring.
