Linnaeus University Scholarship 2024

Applications are now open for the Linnaeus University Scholarship 2024 for international students. Each year Linnaeus University offers scholarships to outstanding students from countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland through the program “Linnaeus University Scholarships” and “Linnaeus University Scholarship for Current Students”. 

Linnaeus University offers two different scholarship programmes for the moment, Linnaeus University Scholarship and Linnaeus University Scholarship for Current Students.

Linnaeus University Scholarship program is offered for students who study master’s programs. Students can only apply for this scholarship before commencing the program.

Linnaeus University for Current Students is offered for students who are already enrolled in a two- or three-year program at Linnaeus University. Students can only apply for this scholarship after commencing the program.

Information about the scholarship

The scholarship covers 75 percent of the tuition fee, please see details regarding the application below. It is currently not possible to apply for this scholarship. The next application round will open 8th of February, 2024 for students that will commence their studies at Linnaeus University during autumn 2024. The last day to apply is the 20th of February at 13.00 (1.00 PM CET, Central European Time)

There are a number of scholarships available, each providing up to a 75 percent tuition fee waiver for the full program. The scholarships will initially be granted for one semester, but will automatically be extended for the duration of the study program (2 up to 4 semesters), provided that study results are satisfactory.

  • have chosen Linnaeus University as your first choice on your application on www.universityadmissions.se
  • paid the application fee to www.universityadmissions.se before February 1.
  • have filled out the application form before the deadline for the application.

Based on which criteria will Linnaeus University select the students who will be awarded scholarships?

Linnaeus University’s decision to award scholarships will primarily be based on the student’s academic merits. Usually, this is based on the CGPA, but the ranking of the previous university and the student’s proficiency in English will also be considered. Linnaeus University also favors an even distribution of students when it comes to country of origin and gender.

Who Sponsored the scholarships?

Linnaeus University receives funding from a fund powered by the Swedish government.

Timeline for Linnaeus University Scholarship in Sweden 

End of January/Beginning of February – All students who have applied for a Linnaeus University master program on www.universityadmissions.se as their first choice will get an email with information on how to apply for the scholarship along with a link to the application form. Make sure to check your junk mail/spam folder. The email is sent out 8th of February.

February 8, 2024 – Application opens.

February 20, 2024 – Application closes at 13.00 (1.00 PM CET, Central European Time)

End of April – Announcement of who will be receiving a scholarship from Linnaeus University

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Motivation letter

The motivation letter should contain a maximum of 600 words. Please answer the following questions in your motivation letter:

  • Why do you want to study this program at Linnaeus University?
  • What other qualities do you have besides academic excellence?
  • What are your career aspirations?

Application

All students who have applied for a Linnaeus University master’s program on www.universityadmissions.se as their first choice will get an email with information on how to apply for the scholarship along with a link to the application form. Make sure to check your junk mail/spam folder. The email will be sent out on the 8th of February.

The deadline for the application is February 20, 2024, 13.00 (1.00 PM CET). Remember that it is important to fully complete your application on www.universityadmissions.se and to submit the application form in order to qualify for our scholarship. Incomplete applications or applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

Scholarships for Current Students at Linnaeus University

This scholarship is for students already enrolled in a two- or three-year program at Linnaeus University at the bachelor’s or master’s level and covers 75 percent of the tuition fee. The scholarships will initially be granted for one semester, but will automatically be extended for the duration of the study program (2 up to 4 semesters), provided that study results are satisfactory.

The application for Scholarships for Current Students is closed. The next application round opens in Spring 2024.

You are eligible to apply if you: 

  • Are from a country outside of the EU/EEA and Switzerland
  • Already are enrolled in a two- or three-year lasting program at Linnaeus University at Bachelor or Master level
  • Are registered on full-time studies during Spring 2024
  • Have passed at least 30 credits within your program.

Eligibility Criteria 

Linnaeus University’s decision to award scholarships will be based on study completion and grades of the previous year/years of your program. With study completion, we mean the number of credits that you have passed in comparison to the possible number of credits that you could have taken. CV and motivation letter is not required.

The application for Scholarships for Current Students is closed. The next application round opens in Spring 2024.
