Scholarship Benefits
All the candidates in the Bachelor’s degree program will get a scholarship worth 20,000 Yen and graduate degree program applicants will receive a scholarship of 20,000 Yen. The scholarship will be offered in the form of a monthly stipend.

- Admission Requirements: Applicants need to submit all necessary academic records and documents required to apply. For a bachelor’s degree application, the applicant must have a high school diploma, and for a Master’s degree application, the applicant must have a bachelor’s degree.

- To be admitted to an applicable program, candidates must have sufficient ability in the English language if they are non-native English speakers. Applicants must have at least intermediate language skills to take courses conducted in English.

Three Ways to Get a MEXT Scholarship at Nagasaki
- Embassy recommendation: Apply through the Japanese embassy or consulate in your country.
- University recommendation: Nagasaki University selects overseas graduate applicants and recommends them to MEXT.
- Domestic selection: Privately financed students already at Nagasaki University may apply. Undergraduates are not always eligible.
Tips for a Strong Application
- Check the language of each application. Many private foundation forms must be completed in Japanese.
- Note the application month for each award. Most run once or twice a year.
- Check age limits. Some foundations, such as ASSURAN, set an upper age limit.
