Scholarship Benefits
- Cover the full tuition fee for the Ph.D. program.
- Selected candidates will receive a stipend of £21,800 per year to meet their living costs.
- Selected candidates will receive a consumable fluid of £2000 per year for the first three years of their Ph.D. program.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants can be from any country
- The Applicant must have a first-class bachelor’s or master’s UK degree or equivalent.
- Candidates with a standalone Master’s qualification must have achieved a distinction or, where this has yet to have been achieved, be able to provide evidence of high performance that will lead to a distinction.
- Applications are accepted from talented candidates from Imperial College London, the UK and worldwide. There are no restrictions on nationality, although some departments may be unable to support international candidates.
- The scheme is only open to new Ph.D. applications. Current registered Imperial Ph.D. students are not eligible to be considered for a President’s Ph.D. Scholarship.

Deadline
Deadline update (October 2026): For the 2027-28 intake there are three rounds: 2 November 2026, 11 January 2027 and 1 March 2027 (final deadline). Please confirm on the official website before applying.
- Applicants who apply before 2 November 2026 and are awarded a scholarship will be notified by 23 January 2027.
- Applicants who apply before 6 January 2027 and are awarded a scholarship will be notified by 20 March 2027.
- Applicants who apply before 3 March 2027 and are awarded a scholarship will be notified by 22 May 2027.

There is no specific scholarship application form. You should submit your application for admission to study at Imperial through our online admissions system and your department will put you forward for the scholarship based on academic merit and potential.
