Requirements for MSc
- You must have a minimum of Second Class Upper (2.1) qualification in your first degree or a Second Class Lower (2.2) with relevant industry experience
- To be eligible for MSc, you must have completed the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC)
- You must be computer literate.
- You must possess 5 O/level credits, including Mathematics and English Language.
- You must attach a statement of purpose (maximum 500 words), which states its relevance to the industry, and the reason for the proposed study.
- You must have a National Identity Number (NIN). Before applying for the scholarship a verification will be required (NIMC verification charges apply).
Requirements for PhD
- To be eligible for PhD, you must complete the mandatory National Youth Service (NYSC)
- You must be a computer literate.
- You must have a good second-degree certificate and a minimum of Second Class Lower (2.2) in your first degree.
- You must upload a research proposal (of not more than five pages) related to the oil and gas industry, which includes the following:
- Title
- Introduction
- Research Problem
- Aim
- Research Questions/Objectives
- Scope
- Summarized Literature
- Methodology
- Expected outcomes only where necessary

The application process for the PTDF program is online. To apply for this program, you must follow the steps given below.
Step: 1
First of all, create your application account and fill out your details from Here.
Entered your email address, and an email was sent to you on that email address with guidance on how to log in and set your password.
Step: 2
By using your email as a username and password you have set yourself, log in on the portal.
Step: 3
Before starting a new application click Verify NIN button.
Step: 4
Candidates should fill in the fields and agree on the terms to verify their NIN (charges may apply).
Don’t try again as you will be charged twice if your first attempt to validate your NIN was unsuccessful. Click on the enter button with text Click here for all failed NIN verification and then add the reference of payment transaction and NIN to complete the verification.

Step: 5
You should decline or accept the disclaimer. To continue with the application you should read and then accept the terms and conditions or end your application if you do not agree simply decline the disclaimer.
Step: 6
You must fill out all the fields carefully. Check all the file formats and upload them. If your uploaded file does not meet the criteria then you should face the error.
Step: 7 (Course Information)
The terms and conditions stating that PTDF has the right to award another University other than the ones you choose in your application must be accepted or declined. You should also choose your first second or third choice course and University.
Important note: If a German university is your top choice, then your interview location must be Abuja. You must upload your statement of purpose (for MSc applicants)/Research Proposal (For PhD applicants)
Step: 8 (Additional Uploads)
You should upload some additional documents such as; a birth certificate, and an LGA certificate.
The PDF size of your documents should be less than 300KB.
Step: 9 (Professional Membership and Publications)
You should upload academic membership of any professional body (maximum of 5), or journal/publication (maximum of 5).
Step: 10 (Preview Application)
Finally, you should preview your application and make sure that all the requirements are fulfilled and there is no mistake in the application. After the submission application is no longer edited.
