| Grades | At least a 2:1 first degree, or a 2:2 plus a relevant postgraduate qualification |
| How to apply | Through a nominating body (such as your national nominating agency), then on the CSC online system |

Tips for Nigerian Applicants
- Keep certified copies of your WAEC/NECO results, transcripts and degree certificate ready.
- Check whether the scholarship needs a nomination. Many government and Commonwealth awards do.
- Read the eligibility rules carefully. Oil company awards often require you to be from a host community or a certain state.
- Never pay anyone to get you a scholarship. Genuine programs do not ask for payment to be selected.
- Apply early. Portals often slow down close to deadlines.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I apply directly to the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission?
No. The CSC does not accept direct applications. You must be nominated, then complete the CSC online application.
Are oil company scholarships open to all Nigerians?
Not always. Some are only for certain states or host communities. Check each program’s rules.
Where can I read the official Commonwealth rules?
See the official website.
