About the University of Brunei Darussalam
UBD is one of the best and largest universities of Brunei, University is ranked 323rd in the world by QS ranking. It’s the only university in Brunei offering a larger number of scholarships almost every year.
Duration of the Study: Minimum 1 year to Maximum 3 years
Master by Coursework: 12 months or 18 months depending on the program.
Master by Research: 24 months full-time.
Doctor of Philosophy: 36 months full-time or 60 months part-time but depending on the program. It might be different for different programs
Financial Benefits
Here is a list of scholarship benefits for the Brunei Darussalam Government Scholarship. The scholarships are Fully Funded and will cover all the expenses of the selected students.
- Cover the Tuition Fees Including Acceptance, Examination, Registration & Orientation Fees.
- BND 500.00 per month allowance for 36 months.
- Allowances of BND 1000.00 for Arts and Humanities, BND 2000.00 for Science candidates
- Accommodating on Campus for 36 months.
- For applicants from outside of Brunei Darussalam, an economy-class ticket will be provided from their home country.
- Baggage Allowance
- Benefits of the BND$250.00 to a country within the ASEAN region
- Amount of the BND$500.00 to a country outside the ASEAN region
- Comprehensive Insurance Coverage for the whole duration of the Scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria
Here is the list of the eligibility criteria for the Government of Brunei Darussalam Scholarships
- Candidates are open to citizens of all the countries of the world, but not limited to, ASEAN, Commonwealth, and OIC Member Countries.
- Candidates should be between the ages of 18-25 years for Undergraduate and Diploma programs.
- Applicant age Must not be more than 35 years for Postgraduate Master’s Degree programs on the 31st of July 2024.
- The scholarships are not for the Brunei Darussalam Permanent Residents.
