Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be International students.
- Applicants from all over the world are eligible to apply.
- For a master’s by research: A bachelor’s degree with first or second-class honors from the University.
- For Ph.D. Research Program: You need to demonstrate sufficient prior research experience and capability. In most cases, you will have either:
- A bachelor’s degree with first or upper-second-class honors
- A master’s degree is performed at a high academic standard, and includes a substantial component of research
- An equivalent qualification that demonstrates research experience, excellence, and capability.

- Academic merit
- Leadership skills (school, workplace, or community)
- Extra-curricular activities (sporting, cultural activities, volunteer/work experience)

Tips for a Strong Application
- Get your offer of admission first. UNSW only counts an unconditional offer or a Conditional English Package Offer.

- Upload evidence for each claim. UNSW states that unsupported claims are not assessed.
- Submit before the closing time. Late applications are not accepted.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does UNSW offer full tuition scholarships to international students?
Yes. The International Scientia Coursework Scholarship can cover full tuition. Some recipients instead get $20,000 per year toward tuition.
Do I need a separate application for every award?
No. One application in the round can be considered for several awards. Some awards, such as Australia’s Global University Award, are given automatically based on academic merit.
Are PhD scholarships part of this round?
No. This round is for coursework degrees. Research degree funding is handled separately by UNSW.
