- Approximately £38,000 per annum is the Scholarship’s total value, varying according to the residential place and selected university. This comprises of:
- £1,110 per month reserved for living expenses and residence as a personal allowance.
- £1,362 for Scholars at Central London institutions);
- payment of tuition fees;
- fares to and from the United States;
- Demandable allocations totaling approximately £3,300 as a grant for;
- Books;
- Approved study traveling;
- Daily traveling expenses with a reasonable distance between the place of residence to the area of study;
- Thesis preparation cost (if submitted for any examination);
- Property shipping to and from the United States
Eligible Candidates for The Marshall Scholarships 2024
The candidate qualifying the requirements below will be found suitable for availing of the Scholarship.
- English Language.
- American Nationality
- American candidate/ student at the time of application.
- The candidate (by the time they take up their Scholarship, i.e., September 2024) must hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year college or university in the United States;
- The candidate has secured GPA not less than 3.7 on their undergraduate degree at the time of application (if the final grades the candidate received were Fall 2023, this GPA would be used).
- The candidate must graduate from their first undergraduate college or university after April 2018.
- The candidate has not studied for or holds a degree or degree equivalent qualification from a British University or GCSE or A level qualifications undertaken in the UK.
- The candidates can avail themselves of either one year or two years Marshall Scholarship. Any candidate found to be applying for both will automatically be disqualified.

- Master of Science in Law and Finance (University of Oxford)
- MPP (Public Policy) (University of Oxford)
- Degrees leading to the medical, dental, veterinarian, and legal specialist credentials (these degrees typically take five years to complete)
- Degrees that include extended periods away from the University of the United Kingdom, like joint degrees with non-UK universities
- A supervised study that does not contribute to certification for a degree
- For degrees that are 12 months in length, Marshall Scholarship applicants must be enrolled for one year. The one-year Scholarship will not be funded for classes that run for ten months or longer, i.e., if the course finishes before August. For the span of the degree in months, please search the university websites carefully. This rule would not include any exceptions.
Courses Not Offered
The Marshall Scholarship is not available for the courses listed below.
- Professional 5-year degree programs in medicine, dentistry, veterinary, and law.
- Degrees are requiring extended periods away from the University or the UK and those degree programs are joined with other universities not in the UK.

- One-year Marshall Scholarship candidates must be registered for degrees that are 12 months in duration. The courses of 10 months or less than ten months duration ending before August will not be offered/ funded under a one-year Marshall Scholarship. Therefore, the applicants must look carefully at the university websites for the degree program duration in months. There are no exceptions to this regulation.
